The 33rd Hong Kong Book Fair would be hold  at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19th to 25th, July 2023.

The 33rd edition of the Hong Kong Book Fair adopts the tagline "Reading the World: The Joy of Reading for Children & Youth" with a focus on Children's and Young Adult Literature. Our goal is to inspire young people to cultivate a passion for reading, which can help them acquire hard and soft skills valuable for their growth and development. In parallel, we also hope to encourage adults to rediscover the joy of reading and reconnect with their childlike wonders.

The fair this year features nine Children's and Young Adult Literature writers including A Nong, the late Ho Tsz, the late Quenby Fung, Chau Mat-mat, Leong Monk-fung, Wei Ya, Sun Wai-ling, Poon Ming-chu and Poon Kam-ying. In addition to exhibiting the precious memorabilia provided by the authors at the Art Gallery, including out-of-print works, manuscripts, photos, sketches and film excerpts, some of them will also host sharing sessions under the Theme of the Year ‘Reading the World: The Joy of Reading for Children & Youth” Seminar Series to interact with book lovers.

The fair features eight seminar series including “Theme of the Year – The Joy of Reading for Children & Youth”, “World of Knowledge”, “Hong Kong Cultural and Historical”, “English and International Reading”, “Lifestyle”, “Personal Development and Spiritual Growth”, “Children and Youth Reading”, and “Renowned Writers” seminar series.

In collaboration with Ming Pao Daily News and Asia Weekly, the Hong Kong Book Fair continues to invite renowned writers from Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to speak at a series of seminars including Yu Hua, Ma Boyong, Luo Zhen-yu, Xu Zhi-yuan, Huang Shan-liao, Susanna Cheung Chui-yung, etc. The “English and International Reading’ seminar series also features international writers including Jane Houng, Jesse Q Sutanto, Mark O’Neill and Theadora Whittington.
